Room, grounds were beautiful, staff were helpful even though there was language barrier

Beautiful hotel, very clean and nice staff
We really enjoyed our stay at La Puertacita. The staff was really nice, the room nice and clean and the overall place was beautiful. It's 10 minutes walking distance from San Miguel de Allende Centro, just perfect to be away from the crowd and sleep quietly but close enough to reach downtown and wander around with young children. Very nice value for money hotel, will definitely go back upon our next visit.

Definitely worth coming back
The hotel is surrounded by a lot of green and has classy spanish/mexican-style decoration which is fascinating yet charming and cozy. The staff were kind enough to change room for us upon our request. Hotel is in a great location. A short walk downhill takes us to the heart of San Miguel.
I wish the staff could speak more English so that they could be more helpful guiding us around. If the hotel could offer short distance shuttle service to certain public transportation such as the central bus station, or offer public transportation info, that'd be great too.

Private a cozy retreat for the family
I like the privacy of the bedroom.
The room was small compared to the living room and the dining room. I think is ok that they don´t have the pool and jacuzzi active all the time. BUT, they should tell you that if you want to use it let them know maybe the night before or at least an hour in advance. The staff is kind, but not all of them very proactive. Also, some signs from the main road that you need to take in order to get there would be good, because is cero obvious.
